Fireside’s newest course offerings, FS300: Navigating Business Aviation Accident Investigations and FS303: Navigating the Aftermath: Security Events and Travel Emergencies, fill a critical knowledge gap in the non-airline areas of the aviation industry. These uncommonly candid courses have an honest and straightforward curriculum. Core presenters and industry guest speakers bring instruction to life with unforgettable lessons from real-world events.

FS300: Navigating Business Aviation Accident Investigations  April 8th  & 9th

When aviation accidents, incidents, security events, and other travel emergencies happen, your company leadership looks to its aviation directors and safety professionals for expertise on safety investigations and navigating the aftermath of these events. Those frequently flying on your aircraft may also inquire about causation and safety improvements. All eyes are on us, and corporate executives expect we are doing everything possible to represent the company and protect its legacy and employees’ livelihoods.

Key topics will include:

  1. The operating rules governing safety investigators and navigating authority boundaries.
  2. Understanding the legal rights of owners/operators during investigations.
  3. Best practices for effective communication and interaction during investigative procedures.

By the end of the course, attendees will have a clearer understanding of the diverse approaches to field investigations and be better equipped to handle real-world scenarios effectively. Join us to enhance your investigative skills and optimize safety practices within the aviation industry.

FS303: Navigating the Aftermath: Security Events and Travel Emergencies – April 10

Due to overwhelming demand, we have added this very special third day. FS303 is designed to be a natural continuation of Accident Investigation, but it is an important enough topic to stand on its own as an intensive one-day course

This course springs from the spate of recent security and safety events affecting corporate executives, their physical assets, and the welfare of their employees. Corporate and family organizations have limited influence over what law enforcement agencies will do or not do during the dynamic response phases. In their defense, after their job ends, it is not their responsibility to help us recover; it is our job. Our company leadership expects us to have a playbook for that unthinkable time when the event moves from threat to direct hostility and then into the aftermath.

Key Topics will include:

  1. Examination of the relevant threat vectors to include unauthorized aircraft intrusion, active protest, cyber-attacks on infrastructure, spoofing and ghosting, attacks on passengers on and off the aircraft, flight crew intrusion, and illegal detainments
  2. Quick actions and incident response best practices, along with recommendations and examples
  3. The aftermath and the best practices:
    • Evacuating/Extracting key personnel
    • Support for those directly affected
    • Managing fatalities, injured survivors, and demystifying HIPAA
    • Emergency communications
    • Addressing the needs of employees and witnesses
    • Business continuity concerns
